Before Class:
- Make sure your Genius Hour project Post #4 is showing up properly on your portfolio site.
Data Literacy Project
Since some of you were absent last class and missed what we have talked about data literacy, here is a YouTube video to catch up or refresh your mind: Why everyone should be data literate.
Today we’ll take a few minutes to share activity ideas and to brainstorm some of the technology tools that might support these activities. You can Google for inspirations, which is an opportunity to practice your critical thinking skills and data literacy.
Things to ask yourself: do your learning objectives match your planned activities? What technology tools can support these activities? Where can you find readings?
You will have the reminder of the class to work on the syllabus. Here’s the Syllabus Template. Copy it and share it with your group members. You can use syllabi from other courses to help you with the format. You can even browse syllabi from every course taught at the University here.
Field Trip on Friday, November 15th:
We'll have a tour of the One Button Studio and Learning Glass Studio. Both studios are located at the South Plaza of the Center for Teaching & Learning, between the Psychology and Journalism buildings, very close to Tate and MLC. Take a look at their websites before you go.
