- Update your portfolio website with your UDL challenge scenario. Talk with me if you have difficulty updating your portfolio.
- Sign up for the Tool Commercial Project, if you have't done so.
Tool Commercial Project:
1. You will choose a tool of your interest (see sign-up sheet above) to explore for two weeks (starting from last Friday). After two weeks, you will share your tool with the class.
2. Last Friday, we had a poll about what we want to know about the tools. Here is what we got:
Concluded from the word cloud above, you will include the following aspects of the tool in your project:
Cost (if it is free or has a full trial; if not, what is the price?)
Difficulty level (if it is user-friendly or easy to use)
Accessibility (how to access it, what devices it is compatible with)
Main features (be prepared to demonstrate how to use it)
Integration for teaching (what age level it is appropriate for; how to integrate it into classrooms; give us an example)
3. Your final product for the project:
You can choose your own creative form of your final product for this project. And whatever form it is, it will be added to your portfolio site on a page named "Tool Commercial Project". Possible forms are:
Blog style - written description of the tool with texts, images and other elements.
Poster - design a poster for your tool on paper or digitally.
Video - make a cool video to introduce your tool. Talk with me if you need help with what video creation tools are good to use for your purpose.
Other - talk with me if you have other creative ideas.
4. Important timeline:
09/13, Friday, before class - Your final product should be available on your portfolio.
09/16, Monday - Half of you will present in front of the class (3-5 minutes).
09/18 Wednesday - The other half of you will present in front of the class (3-5 minutes).
5. For now:
Discuss with people who are choosing tools from the same category as you about your project plans.
HOMEWORK:
1. Before class on Friday, share your initial thoughts about creativity here.
2. Review ISTE standards, Meaningful Learning, 21st Century skills, and UDL, to see what they have said about creativity.
3. Start to explore your tool from now!
