Projects

Tool Commercial Project (5%)

You will choose a facilitation/communication tool of your interest and unfamiliar to you to explore for some period of time and then share with your classmates what you have found out about it.

Maker Project (15%)

You will create something new and interesting to you, using some of the maker tools, such as book publishing, comic strip creators, music, video animation, and UGA MakerSpace tools, etc.  You will also write a 500-800 word reflection describing your maker experience and discussing how experiences like this might support K-12 student learning.

Collaborative Learning Guidebook(15%)

The Collaborative Learning Guidebook Project is a whole-class project with small groups working on a subtopic of collaborative learning. The purpose is to create a resource book for teachers to design and facilitate effective collaborative learning activities in online learning environments.

Genius Hour Project (15%)

For the Genius Hour Project, you have the opportunity to explore a topic that you are passionate about, as long as it can be related to Learning, Design, and Technology. You will be guided to brainstorm ideas, make a plan, and find relevant resources and tools for your project, and write up your findings throughout the semester. 

​

Computational Thinking Project (15%)

The Computational Thinking Project is a group project, where you'll have the opportunity to explore block-based coding platforms such as Scratch to design learning activities for k-12 students. 

​

Bitmoji Classroom Project (10%)

You will build your own bitmoji classroom using Google Slides or PowerPoint and perhaps the Bitmoji extension. 

​

Portfolio (5%)

You will build a portfolio website and publish all your projects there. You will be guided to do this step by step throughout the semester. 

​

Participation (10%)

You are expected to attend the class on time and participate in class activities actively, whether you are in person in the physical classroom or synchronously online.
